IF MUSIC BE THE FOOD OF LOVE, PLAY ON
On the 400th anniversary of Williams Shakespeare’s death, this special concert features music written for and inspired by the Bard’s greatest dramatic works. We are thrilled to share the stage with talented actors from the Rowan Department of Theatre & Dance for this unique performance! The program also includes Joel Puckett’s Shadow of Sirius for flute and wind ensemble, which will feature flute professor Adeline Tomasone,
and John Mackey’s Kingfishers Catch Fire.

COMPOSING THE NATURAL WORLD
For nearly a century, composers have used prerecorded nature sounds to create vibrant musical atmospheres. This immersive concert program features the earliest example of such a recording, Ottorino Respighi’s famous Pines of Rome. Alex Shapiro’s Beneath and Mason Bates’ Rusty Air in Carolina are two contemporary works that blend electronics, nature sounds, and traditional acoustic performance. We are also thrilled to present the WORLD PREMIERE of Adam Silverman’s Zipzap, a concerto for drum set and wind ensemble featuring guest artist Justin Alexander.
Please join us for a pre-concert lecture by the conductor at 7:30 pm.
