“Revolutionaries”
Ronald Levy, piano soloist
Join the MSU Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band as they pay tribute to some of the most influential and revolutionary wind music composers in history. The program will include the music of Charles Ives, Percy Grainger, Karel Husa, and Paul Hindemith. Pianist Ronald Levy will appear as the soloist on Igor Stravinsky’s amazing Concerto for Piano and Wind Instruments.

MSU Wind Symphony and the Montgomery High School Wind Ensemble
Each season, the MSU Wind Symphony shares the stage with one of the best high school bands in New Jersey. On Friday, February 12, they will share a concert program with the wonderful Montgomery High School Wind Ensemble under the direction of Mr. Adam Warshafsky. The program will also feature the winner of the MSU Wind Symphony Concerto Competition.

“Sacred and Profane”
The final on-campus concert of the season will feature the first movement of the Brahms German Requiem, the third movement (“Profanation”) from Leonard Bernstein’s Symphony No. 1, John Mackey’s Red Line Tango, and Olivier Messiaen’s haunting Et Exspecto Resurrectionem Mortuorum. In addition, Dr. Marissa Silverman will present a pre-concert talk about the music of Olivier Messiaen.
